- extend __GNUC__ if (0) hack for lint, make it use an unused
variable, and move it in reachable code.

The Lex library is now built from ~/lib/libl by pulling the appropriate

sources from ~/usr.bin/lex. This will allow us to start "importing"
future flex releases.
