atatat d1b3852365 Add the INCLUDE_CONFIG_FILE option to all config files. In config 
files that are generic (ie, GENERIC, GENERICSBC, GENERIC32, ALL, or
ALPHA), it is uncommented.

gmcgarry 6e066ba77a Add commented-out USERCONF option. Mainly useful for install media

thorpej bfca87bb38 Clean up Netwinder bootstrap: 
* Put the code that runs with the MMU off in a separate section (.start).
* Use a linker script to set the VMA/LMA appropriately for each section.
* Fix kernel page table allocation and mapping of kernel text/data/bss.

...and now that kernel images > 2MB work:
* Add SYMTAB_SPACE to the GENERIC kernel so that we have DDB symbols.
* Use dbsym to load the kernel's DDB symbol area.

lukem d213d804f7 Rename MEMORY_DISK_SIZE (formerly MINIROOTSIZE) to MEMORY_DISK_ROOT_SIZE, 
which was suggested by Izumi Tsutsui <tsutsui@ceres.dti.ne.jp> as
being more consistent with what it's controlling...

jdolecek f32b3f4f89 Reduce the massive code duplication regarding joy(4). Split it into

jdolecek 6d265bd894 add options PIPE_SOCKETPAIR to individual kernel configs

martin b506d6e135 Add PPPoE to all generic kernels that should be able to use it. 
XXX TODO: do this for INSTALL kernels too, add sysinst support and make the
XXX needed binaries available on the ramdisk root fs.

gmcgarry bdd225baa1 Add a blurb to the top of all GENERIC files. This serves three purposes: 
- to clarify some terminology
- to clarify the intention of the GENERIC file
- to cross-reference some useful man pages

atatat b45c51b1fc Roll the rest of the ports over to the new MI kernel build machinery. 
Any problems reported by testers have been fixed, and massive
cross-compiling of kernels has shown that any problems that remain
with actually building kernels are not related to this.

lukem ecb81c3f6d - convert usage of "defopt" to "defflag" where the relevant option does 
not support a value (e.g., it's to be used as "options FOO" instead of
  "options FOO=xxx"). options that take a value were converted to
  defparam recently.
- minor whitespace & formatting cleanups

atatat 2bf2c362fb The bridge(4) pseudo-device no longer requires the port to 
__HAVE_GENERIC_SOFT_INTERRUPTS, so add it back to all GENERIC configs.

darcy ce0ec1e208 Add System V semaphore resource limits to each GENERIC file that has an 
option for System V semaphores.  It appears that there are no overrides
in the code and each file has the following added.

 options    SYSVSEM     # System V semaphores
+#options   SEMMNI=10   # number of semaphore identifiers
+#options   SEMMNS=60   # number of semaphores in system
+#options   SEMUME=10   # max number of undo entries per process
+#options   SEMMNU=30   # number of undo structures in system
 options    SYSVSHM     # System V shared memory

If anyone thinks that this is incorrect for any of these files, please
correct it.

Note - the i386 port was not forgotten.  It was done separately.

chris 7383fda9e0 Remove defopt EBSA285. 
Move the files from footbridge that are cats specific.
Remove EBSA285 kernel as people should be able to use the generic cats kernel for EBSA285 systems.

bjh21 cb36bacea5 Merge arm32/dev/bus_space_notimpl.S and hpcarm/hpcarm/bus_space_notimpl.S 
into arm/arm/bus_space_notimpl.S.  They were identical anyway.

This file has no excuse for being in assembler, but I'll leave that for another
day.

matt fa3621e3be Move netwinder_machdep.c to files.netwinder. Eliminate opt_netwinder.h and 
use #ifdef netwinder insead.  XXX ebsa285_machdep.c should move to the cats
directory and files.cats

bjh21 7d9a4dbad7 Move blockio.S from sys/arch/arm32/arm32 to sys/arch/arm/arm, since I want to 
start using it on arm26.

hpcarm gets to keep its own version, since it's not identical and I haven't
got an hpcarm box to test.

mrg 3783ca5d30 define _KERNEL_OPT as well as _KERNEL. we will use this in the future to 
get kernel "opt_foo.h" headers, rather than _KERNEL && !_LKM.

chris cbf8e0eb95 Add a files.footbridge for inclusion by cats and netwinder. This is to make moving of the footbridge dir easier (when it eventually moves from arm32) 
Also remove EBSA285 defopt from the netwinder file as the netwinder isn't an eval board.
