* use " for 3 1/2 & 5 1/4 in fdc entry
* xref acorn32/opms(4) in pms# entry
* no longer xref scsictl(8) in scsibus# entry

cf43cdd268 g/c the MAKEDEV(.local)? substitution - it's not needed 
generate the .Xr commands for device manpage crossreferences directly,
we no longer need to replace 'foo(4)' in the source MAKEDEV.tmpl

replace other gensub() calls with equivalent gsub(), and fix output
for fdc (we want 3 1/2", 5 1/4" - not 3 1/2``, 5 1/4'')

add target translation for 'random' -> rnd(4) and 'scsibus#' -> scsi(4),
and fix typo in opms entry

f85d2d1c14 Use ${HOST_SH} instead of `sh'. 
If necessary, pull in <bsd.sys.mk> to get the definition of HOST_SH;
Makefiles that pull in one of (most of) <bsd.*.mk> will get this anyway.

5daa33014e Improve how build.sh -N and MAKEVERBOSE interoperate; 
rather than adding '-s' to make's command line in the makewrapper,
use the .SILENT target based on MAKEVERBOSE's value.

This means that you can do:
	./build.sh -N 1 makewrapper

	$TOOLDIR/bin/nbmake-$MACHINE
	#  runs at MAKEVERBOSE==1, with command lines suppressed

	$TOOLDIR/bin/nbmake-$MACHINE MAKEVERBOSE=2
	#  runs at MAKEVERBOSE==2 for this invocation, with command lines shown

use longer path for source files. Remove an unnecessary dot.

130ab7336b Rework how MAKEVERBOSE operates: 
*	Don't bother prefixing commands with a line of  ${_MKCMD}\
	and instead rely upon "make -s".  This is less intrusive on
	all the Makefiles than the former.  Idea from David Laight.

    *	Rename the variables use to print messages.  The scheme now is:
	    _MKMSG_FOO		Run  _MKMSG 'foo'
	    _MKTARGET_FOO	Run  _MKMSG_FOO ${.TARGET}

566d91a6d8 add GB2312 after JIS0208/0213, then there's no confusion. 
some chinese chars may get converted into JIS0208/0213 on
"iconv -f utf-8 -t iso-2022-jp-2".  but anyway, it's iso-2022-*jp*-2 so
japanese chars should take precedence.
XXX what should we do about X11 ctext?

i really hate unicode han unification.
do we really need to support language tags?

848e3bb5cf Make the documentation match the source, and excise instances of 
the RUNNING flag which existed in an earlier draft implementation.
Also, now that callout_stop() no longer clears INVOKING, reflect
that as well.

87700a22c8 Implement MAKEVERBOSE. 
Rework a bunch of make .for loops into sh for loops.

(XXX: This stuff could be implemented in a more efficient manner that
does a lot less of  SOMEMAKEVAR!=some shell command  , etc etc)
