Now that MKUPDATE and MKUNPRIVED are "normalized" with getmakevar(),

test with  "${MKxxx}" = "no"  instead of  -z "${MKxxx}"

Ignore errors when running pwd -P.  (GNU coreutils incorrectly complains)


Both problems pointed out in private email from Christian Limpach.
