Back out part of the previous patch - not only does stuffing a sizeof()
into 8 bits generate (bogus) warnings on some architectures, but the change to pad on "scsi inquiry" is no longer needed, apparently. Thanks to Matthias Pfaller for pointing the latter out to me.
