fields for each input file.

the total number of octets in the file and the file name.
If no file name is specified, the standard input is used and no file name

MD5 algorithm is intended for digital signature applications, where
a large file must be

but use different algorithms.

Valid algorithms are MD2, MD4, MD5, SHA1, RMD160, SHA256, SHA384, SHA512,
CRC, old1, and old2.
Old1 and old2 are equal to

The default is CRC.

Verify (check) files against a list of checksums.
The list is read from

or from stdin if no filename is given.
E.g. first run

replaced with the size of the file in blocks.
For historic reasons, the block size is 1024 for algorithm 1 and 512

Partial blocks are rounded up.

The smallest number of octets capable of representing this integer are used.
